"Early Bird" Fasting Draws (5:00 AM - 7:00 AM)
Our Early Bird Service is designed for your convenience:
• Finish Early: Get your blood drawn at daybreak so you can eat breakfast and take your medications right on time.
• Avoid the Rush: No need to fight morning traffic or sit in a crowded waiting room before work.
• Professional & Prompt: We arrive at your home or office during the earliest hours, providing a quiet and professional experience so you can get on with your day.
This service will be an additional fee which does not include the lab draw fee.
How to Prepare for Your Early Bird Appointment
To ensure we can get your labs completed quickly so you can start your day (and eat breakfast!), please follow these Early Bird Essentials:
1. The "12-Hour" Fasting Rule
Most Early Bird tests (like Cholesterol or Glucose) require you to be "fasting."
• What to do: Do not eat any food or drink anything except plain water for 12 hours before your appointment.
• Morning tip: Do not drink coffee, tea, or juice until after the draw is finished.
2. Hydrate Before Bed & Upon Waking
Even if you are fasting from food, water is your best friend.
• The Night Before: Drink an extra glass of water before going to sleep.
• The Morning Of: Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up. This ensures your veins are "awake" and ready when I arrive at 5:00 or 6:00 AM.
3. Stay Warm (Don't Get Out of Bed Too Early!)
Body temperature drops slightly while we sleep, and cold veins are harder to find.
• What to do: Wear a warm long-sleeved pajama top or robe.
• Pro-Tip: If you are a "hard stick," stay under your warm covers until I knock on the door. Keeping your arms warm under the blankets makes the blood flow much better.
4. Set Your "Station" the Night Before
To avoid scrambling in the dark, please place the following on your kitchen table or nightstand before you go to bed:
• Your Photo ID.
• Your Lab Order (paper or digital).
• A clear path and a light turned on for the technician to enter safely.
⚠️ Important Note on Early Bird Fees:
Because our Early Bird slots are in high demand and require a 5:00 AM dispatch, failure to be ready (e.g., if you accidentally ate breakfast or forgot your ID) will result in the forfeiture of your Early Bird Convenience Fee. A new fee will be required to reschedule. Please help us keep your health on track by being 'ready at the door'!
